It is dedicated to providing help to inventors and inventing communities, whether local, national, or even, international in scope, in their efforts to secure the tools and resources necessary to safely navigate the inventing process and successfully take their products to market. Constructing The Inventor's Desktop to permit Web-based administration on Joomla allows for easy maintenance of interactive, community-driven support and collaboration.

In addition, the program's growing number of modules allow for easy site customization without the need for unwanted or unused features.

Founded and hosted by FLeCusa International and The Inventors' Roundtable as a joint undertaking, The Inventor's Desktop is intended to provide a safe, secure environment where inventors, working alone or in groups, and service providers can interact, share ideas, efforts and wisdom and provide assistance to one another.
